| Sergei has become a genuine good
friend of the charity and he has been with us, lending help along
the way, since 1995. He has become a valued member of the team and
has made himself available to help whenever he can. He has done
a lot for us behind the scenes while we are in the UK, and without
question most of our trips would be impossibly difficult without
his help. |
|
We first met Olga back in 1997 when
she was only sixteen. She was working at the hospital and volunteered
to sing for us at our leaving party. Well she has been doing the
same every year since, along with offering her help with translation,
painting and a host of other odd jobs.It seems that where the charity
is concerned, nothing is too much trouble for her. |

| Jane joined at the last minute last
year. She was thrown in at the deep end as we were short of translaters
and was dragged around the limits of St Petersburg in vans, cars
and taxis at all hours helping us to assemble materials in time
for the arrival of the volunteers. She also translates letters for
us back in the UK. |
|
Nikita made himself available to
help with the assembly of materials on our last trip. He speaks
excellent English and not only helps with translation but also found
time to collect our advance party from the airport saving us the
taxi fare. Nikita is the cousin of Katya, the young deaf girl we
supplied with a hearing aid last year. |
