Welcome
to Kingisepp School Orphan House No 2

The Kingisepp School Orphan House No 2 is home to
sixty eight children both girls and boys aged between the ages of ten
and eighteen years old. The orphanage was built in the nineteen
fifties as a school for local children and was converted in the late
nineteen eighties. There was hurricane in early July 2002 which badly
damaged the main building, perimeter fence and children's garden and
play areas.

This
is a group of children who have come from their temporary accommodation
in a nearby school to see the changes which our volunteers have made.
On the left is the director of the orphanage on the right
the wife of our interpretor Natalia Krupinov.
These young lads are eagerly awaiting by the Komso
Van for the fishing equipment brought over by our volunteers. They were each given a new rod, reel, net etc, to use in the nearby Luga river which is a stone throw from the orphanage
The
three lads, Russell, Mark and Dee pictured on the right wearing our
Komso tee shirts, made the national press by driving a restored Lada
which they paid fifty pounds for, to our orphanage in Kingisepp near
St Petersburg Russia.
Here they can be seen handing over a cheque to the
director of the orphanage Rimma Zharkova for over
$2000 which they raised before leaving the UK. On the left in the background
is our interpretor Michael Krupinov
